In 2026, the Gdynia Container Terminal marks the 20th anniversary of its establishment. To celebrate the occasion, a special jubilee ceremony was held on June 1.
On March 24, 2006, the first container ship called at the Gdynia Container Terminal, owned by Hutchison Ports Gdynia. The vessel Enforcer thus inaugurated operational activities at the terminal in Gdynia. A few months later, on June 17, 2006, the facility was officially opened.
To mark the occasion, invited guests gathered at the Courtyard Gdynia Waterfront hotel to raise a jubilee toast. The event included official speeches, well wishes, and reminiscences. Speeches were delivered by Jan Jarmakowski, Managing Director of Hutchison Ports Gdynia; Emil Rojek, Deputy Voivode of the Pomeranian Voivodeship; Leszek Bonna, Vice-Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship; Tomasz Augustyniak, Deputy Mayor of Gdynia; and Clemence Cheng, Executive Director of Hutchison Ports Holdings and Managing Director of the Europe Division. Eric Ip, Managing Director of Hutchison Ports Group, also sent a recorded speech.
To mark the occasion, we also published an anniversary video summarizing 20 years of GCT’s development.
